Curtis Arledge returns to Mariner as CEO

Curtis Arledge has joined Mariner Investment Group, a global alternative investment manager and subsidiary of ORIX USA, as chairman and chief executive officer. In addition to his role at Mariner, Arledge will serve as head of ORIX USA asset management. ORIX USA acquired a majority interest in Mariner in 2010 and runs a third-party asset management platform through the acquisition and development of complementary affiliate asset managers.

A founding member of Mariner, Arledge, 53, has returned to the firm, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business and developing new business lines. He previously served as the CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management. Prior to this, he was the chief investment officer for fundamental fixed income portfolios at BlackRock. Most recently, he worked as senior research associate with the Forum for Growth & Innovation at Harvard Business School.

Mariner founder Bill Michaelcheck will continue in his role as the firm's chief investment officer and portfolio manager for Mariner's flagship multi-strategy hedge fund.
