B. G., Opalesque Geneva: According to fourth quarter and full year results reports, the three global investment firms lost some of their assets under management (AuM) in 2018.
Janus Henderson completes share buyback
Janus Henderson Group plc's net income for 2018 was US$549.6m, compared to $504.4m in 2017 on an adjusted basis. AuM closed at almost $329bn, compared to nearly $371 the previous year.
"Against a backdrop of volatile markets and ongoing change in the asset management sector, 2018 was a year of further transformation for our firm," says CEO Dick Weil. "On the positive side, we made significant progress driving towards merger completion, transforming from two separate legacy companies into Janus Henderson.
"Additionally, in 2018 the business continued to generate strong cash flow - we returned a majority of this cash flow to shareholders through dividends, repaying our convertible notes and by completing our US$100 million share buyback." However, he continues, market headwinds led to an aggregate $18bn outflow.
