Equity strategies take top spot in December: eVestment

All of the top viewed institutional investment strategies viewed by investors and consultants last month were equity strategies, according to eVestment's December 2018 Advantage Viewership Report.

Meanwhile, all but one of the products that saw the most significant increase in views during the month were equity strategies as well.

eVestment explained that this strong global showing for equity strategies was likely driven by December's volatile global equities markets and reflects how its viewership data can uncover unique insights into the investment strategies, geographies and asset classes investors and consultants are looking at and the market forces potentially driving that interest.

The Advantage investment viewership data is generated through the eVestment Advantage solution and is based on tracking daily eVestment user reviews of investment universes and products, it said.

Key findings from the report

Europe ex-U.K. investors and consultants had a stronger interest in hedge funds in December than eVestment users in other regions the company tracks, with three hedge funds making the list of the most viewed strategies overall and the strategies with the most increase in views month-over-month by users in that region.

Turnover in the global top viewed products list was notable in December with 15 new entrants.
