Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: Swiss asset manager Lombard Odier Investment Managers has expanded its alternatives investment range with the launch of a Ucits vehicle within its "TerreNeuve" strategy.
The LO Funds - TerreNeuve fund, which has a focus on sustainable investing will be onshore version of its new market neutral equity long/short strategy.
The Ucits vehicle within the TerreNeuve strategy is managed by Arnaud Langlois, who joined Lombard Odier IM in February 2018 to launch the offshore domiciled 1798 TerreNeuve fund.
Lombard said the fund has delivered 7% net returns since launch in April 2018. LO Funds - TerreNeuve will follow the same investment process as the offshore version.
According to Jean-Pascal Porcherot, CEO of Lombard Odier IM's 1798 Alternatives, the commitment of Lombard Odier IM to the strategy reflects a shared vision that the integration of sustainability into the investment process can be a strong source of alpha for equity long / short strategies and a key driver of returns.
The TerreNeuve strategy is a bottom up, sector specialist approach, with a focus on sectors including global consumer, agriculture, chemicals, environmental and medical technologies.
The investment team utilises a proprietary sustainability rating system they have developed which acts as a company due diligence process and helps them analyse ESG themes in their sectors. ...................... To view our full article Click here
