BNP Paribas Securities Services creates a new head of alternatives role for Asia-Pacific

BNP Paribas Securities Services has hired Caleb Wong in a newly-created role as head of alternative investors for Asia-Pacific.

The hire marks BNP Paribas' strategy to grow its fund administration business for hedge funds and private capital funds for the region.

A press release stated that Caleb will lead BNP Paribas Securities Services' APAC Alternative Investors Client Line teams, seeking to grow its franchise across the hedge fund and private capital sectors in the region.

Caleb brings more than 20 years' experience in banking and finance and a strong expertise in the servicing of alternative (hedge fund, private equity and real estate) and traditional asset classes.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Caleb was Managing Director at State Street Alternative Investment Solutions, responsible for its Limited Partners Servicing, Private Equity and Real Estate administration business in the APAC region.

Based in Singapore, Caleb reports to Mostapha Tahiri, Head of Institutional Investors, Asia Pacific.

Ian Lynch, Global Head of Alternative Investors at BNP Paribas Securities Services, said: "Caleb's appointment follows a number of recent strategic hires aimed at bolstering our alternatives offering globally, and positions us perfectly to develop our services in a burgeoning Asia Pacific region."
