60% of Americans surveyed open to crypto political donations: Survey

60% of Americans believe that donations in cryptocurrency for federal election campaigns should be legal, revealed a survey.

A recent survey done by blockchain-centric research firm Clovr said that only 21% of the people among the 1,023 eligible voters in the country who participated in the survey disagreed with the premise.

To break down the research between the both sides of the aisle, 63% of people identifying as Republicans said that they think crypto is secure enough to be used for political purposes. On the other hand, 52% of Democrats suggested the same.

However, independent voters were the most skeptical about cryptos with only 45% being at ease with crypto donations.

Overall, 73% of all voters who were knowledgeable about digital currencies believed security was not an issue when used for campaign donations, while 23% expressed concern.

With regards to the financial stability issues with crypto in politics, 52% republicans said that crypto was stable enough, while Democrats and Independents came in at 40 and 35% respectively.

25% of the participants stated that they would be more likely to make a contribution to political campaigns if crypto donations were an option, said the survey.

More than 20% of Republicans expressed their wish to contribute more substantial amounts if crypto was an option. 16 % of Democrats and 12% of Independents stated the same, respectively.
