NYSE parent ICE to launch physically-settled bitcoin futures on Bakkt platform in December

The parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has announced that Bitcoin (BTC) futures on its platform Bakkt will be launched on on December 12.

According to a document released yesterday (October 22nd), the physically-settled daily futures contract, will be backed by actual bitcoins held in ICE's Digital Asset Warehouse.

The press release stated: "Each futures contract calls for delivery of one bitcoin held in the Bakkt Digital Asset Warehouse and will trade in U.S. dollars and others. One daily contract will be listed for trading each Exchange Business Day."
