Difficult times in raising funds for hedge fund managers: Study

Hedge fund managers will to continue to encounter difficulties in raising funds as they are pushed by investors on performance, said a research report.

A report by Deloitte Partner Mark Ward, director Chris Farkas, and Assistant Manager Will Hindley on hedge fund market trends, opportunities and challenges, said that going forward, respondents they surveyed saw a challenging environment for hedge funds.

One respondent went further to suggest that this may lead to a consolidation of the hedge fund industry and a reduction in the number of start-ups that can successfully establish themselves in the industry.
