Millennial Men's crypto investments doubles those of women: Survey

Investing in crypto is dominated by young men. The Millennial women remain largely underrepresented in cryptocurrency.

A recent survey that Circle held, which included over 3,000 people from the millennial, Gen X, and Baby Boomer generations, revealed that Millennial men plan to invest in crypto over the next year at more than twice the rate of Millennial women (18% vs. 7%).

"One in four Millennials are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies over the next year," said the survey.

The survey showed that 42% of male Millennials, 34% of men identifying in Generation X and 16% of male Baby Boomers have looked into asset classes like cryptocurrencies, versus 27% of Millennial women, 19% of Generation X women and 9% of female Baby Boomers.

The findings show that a majority of the younger generation believe they are aggressive when it comes to investing in new technology.

The study showed that the age contributed to a lack of aggressiveness among the Boomers. The percentage of those saying they are aggressive when it comes to seeking investment opportunities varies greatly, dropping from about 69% among Millennials to just 25% among the Baby Boomers.

The study concludes: "We at Circle believe crypto technology will enable powerful ways to create and share value for everyone, across all generations and genders."
