eVestment: Hedge fund asset flows go negative

Investors withdrew an estimated $7.88 billion from global hedge funds in June 2018, bringing overall Q2 2018 net flows for the industry to -$5.43 billion, according to the just-released eVestment June and Q2 2018 Hedge Fund Asset Flows Report. This was the industry's second quarterly net redemption since Q4 2016. Total estimated hedge fund assets are now $3.308 trillion.

Managed futures funds faced the fourth consecutive month of redemptions as investors tire of waiting for performance to return to the category. Investors withdrew -$2.1 billion in June.

Equity long/short funds have also seen persistent outflows in recent months ......................
