Art & Motion launches collectible car alternative investment vehicle

Luxembourg-based Art & Motion has launched a new investment vehicle dedicated to vintage cars and exceptional high-quality vehicles as this collectible market has grown exponentially the turn of the century to become an asset class in its own right.

Founded by Laurent Lefebvre and Alain Mestat, the duo said the collectible car segment has risen more than 350% over the past ten years and can now be classified as an alternative investment class with little correlation to traditional asset classes, allowing for interesting portfolio diversification.

"Collectible automobiles represent an interesting diversification within an global asset allocation. Collectible cars do maintain their value more than traditional asset classes. They do not tend to be correlated to financial markets and provide a tangible investment opportunity. The value of collectible cars results from craftsmanship, they have a historical value, induce emotions and sensations no other asset class can provide," the company said in its teaser campaign.

Currently, Art & Motion is available to investors who are willing to shell out an initial EUR 125,000. The firm said it would allow wealth managers to offer a new and performing alternative investment product to a sophisticated and passionate clientele.
