Ex-Tiburon partner joins Aubrey Capital Management

J. Mark Martyrossian has joined Aubrey Capital Management, a family office that manages three high-conviction funds, earlier this month as CEO. 

According to CityWire, Martyrossian,who graduated from Oxford University, was a partner at London-based boutique fund manager Tiburon Partners LLP from 1999. He sold his partnership in April 2016 and was appointed by Tiburon as Investment Adviser to provide ongoing investment advice to Tiburon Taurus Fund (the Asia ex-Japan hedge fund launched in 2010) where his investment strategy is focused on a fundamental bottom-up stock picking process. Before that, he was an executive director at Warburg Dillon Read and from 1991 to 1997. Tiburon manages four Asia-focused funds.

"I have known Andrew Dalrymple, who founded the Aubrey business, for over 20 years and I was delighted when he asked me to come aboard," he said in an email received by Opalesque. "I have also known the senior members of the team for over 10 years."

"In addition to my relationship with Andrew," he added, "the long term performance of the firm's two main product lines was critical in my decision to take on the role.  The Aubrey GEM product, for example, has outperformed the market by some 68% over five years.  The European fund has outperformed by 52% over seven......................
