Cliffwater hedge fund consultant shatters ’Fastest Half Marathon Pushing a Double Running Stroller’ world record

Chris Solarz, a Managing Director of Cliffwater LLC, an alternative investment consultant, together with two of his children set a new world record of 1:18:08 (5:57 min/mile) beating the previous record of 1:26:37 that was set in the United Kingdom in March 2016 for funning a half marathon (13.1 miles) pushing a double running stroller.

Chris has considerable experience in both endurance events and Guinness World Records. He has run over 250 marathons and ultra-marathons in nearly 50 countries around the world and has broken 7 Guinness World Records for marathon running, treadmill running, stair climbing, subway riding and beer drinking.

Chris Solarz ran the Suffolk County Half Marathon in Patchogue, NY on Oct. 30th, and told Opalesque that Sophie (age 2, 25 pounds) slept most of the way while Sebastien (age 4, 36 pounds) excitedly cheered back at everyone who was cheering for them along the way.

At Cliffwater, Chris oversees the global macro hedge fund research, focusing on both systematic and discretionary strategies. Cliffwater divides the hedge fund world into five strategies: equity long-short, credit long-short, event-driven, multi-strategy/RV, and global macro. The firm has three lines of business, namely hedge fund advisory, private equity advisory, and real asset advisory. Clients range from large public pension plans to small private plans, endowments, and foundations.
