Ex-AHL manager builds new quant hedge fund on principles of diversification and market experience

We heard earlier this year that Dr. Douglas Greenig, who left Man AHL, a large systematic trading house, in 2014, was in the process of setting up his own quant hedge fund shop in London, Florin Court Capital, and that it would be backed by Brummer & Partners, a well established Swedish alternative asset manager with around $16.6bn in AuM. Well, the process has been completed, and Florin Court Capital Fund, a Cayman-domiciled systematic fund, was launched on 1st August 2015.

Dr. Douglas Greenig, CEO and CIO of the fund, was Chief Risk Officer and Head of Portfolio Management Group at Man AHL. Before that, he was managing director and PM at Fortress, and held senior positions at RBS Greenwich Capital. His team of principals includes Anthony Vinitsky, COO and CRO, former Head of Investment Operations at Man AHL; Dr. David Denison, deputy CIO, former Head of FX and senior quant researcher at Man AHL; and Simon Nicholls, CTO, former Head of Simulation Team at G- Research (formerly known as De Putron Fund Management).
