Citi reorganizes commercial banking business, hires Roos for prime finance

Citi has reorganized its commercial banking business according to a statement from the firm. The reorganization comes with new leadership at the top posts of all of its commercial client segments. The four segments include : Business Banking, Middle Market, Upper Middle Market, and Global & National Industries (GNI).

Rajiv Goswami will serve as Managing Director and Head of the Business Banking Segment, based in New York. Goswami has been with Citi for eight years and was involved in the development of several specialty verticals for the bank including technology banking, asset based lending, healthcare finance, and the SBA program. Prior to joining Citi, he was at GE Finance.

Zach Mayo will serve as Managing Director and Head of the Middle Market segment. Mayo has been with Citi for 20 years and will be based in New York. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association and a committee member with the UJA-Federation of New York’s Wall Street and Financial Services Division.

Shawn McGowen will serve as Managing Director and Head of the Upper Middle Market segment. Previously, McGowen was Central and Western Region President for Citi Commercial Bank in the U.S., responsible for implementing Citi’s business strategy across the California, Nevada, Illinois and Texas.
