Australian hedge fund managers have a very simple recipe for growth: delivering returns, multi-channel distribution, brand building and sustainability, declared Jarrod Brown, CEO of Bennelong Funds Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bennelong Group - a privately owned funds management and investment business, at the latest Opalesque Australia Roundtable held in Melbourne.

According to Brown this recipe is essential "to ensuring you will be around for a long time."

The Australian Roundtable, sponsored by Eurex, SunGard and Australian Fund Monitors, discussed the type of investors who preferred Australian hedge funds.

He told the participants, "We are multi-channel distributors. While we do not distribute offshore, we still have a couple of offshore investors. We otherwise divide our channels by retail, mezzanine, institutional, and high net worth, the latter being critical for distribution of our alternative strategies...We are very active in the retail channel. Most retail business is intermediated but we do receive a number of new self-managed super investments every day. I wonder how they fin......................
