The Channel Island of Jersey is open and ready for alternatives business says Jersey Finance

By Beverly Chandler, Opalesque London: The Channel Island of Jersey is open and ready for business for any hedge fund firm that has been dismayed by the recent changes in regulation in Switzerland, or felt threatened by the Euro crisis. The Jersey Finance funds event being held in London this week will reveal that applications for alternative funds to set up in the Island was 25% up during 2011.

Heather Bestwick, deputy CEO of Jersey Finance reports that total funds under investment management on the Island at the end of the last quarter of 2011 stood at £20.8bn ($32.9bn) while the net asset value of funds under administration stands at £189.4bn ($300.6bn).......................
