Dr. Tilman Keese Bailey McCann, Opalesque New York:
Dr. Tilman Keese and Dr. Mathias Bucher are experts in managed futures. They started their Swiss firm, AllMountain Capital after developing a close working relationship at another Swiss firm, Horizon21. Both men have PhDs in quantitative finance and bring that expertise to their strategies. Keese and Bucher were recently interviewed by Matthias Knab for Opalesque TV.
Keese and Bucher use a long-term trend following managed futures strategy that is defined by choosing the highest quality trends and active risk management. Keese notes that the strategy does have a high level of volatility, but despite that, they have worked to mitigate risk.
So far, with this strategy, the firm's client base includes high net worth individuals and family offices. However, both men are working to build their client base. "We grew our business from $20m up to $100m mostly in Switzerland," Bucher explains. "We see a great deal of interest from US investors, but also out of Middle East and Asia."
According to Keese, the founders designed the firm to cater to the demands of their sophisticated investor base and focused on creating an infrastructure that will meet those demands.
