Typhon Capital to Hard Close Tauros Livestock Strategy After Outpacing Subscription

Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Pool Operator Typhon Capital Management announced this week that it is hard closing its Tauros Livestock Strategy to new and additional investment effective February 10 this year after outpacing subscription.

In a statement, Typhon Management Director Diana Koutoulas said that the company originally planned to soft close the strategy at $35m, but the rate of subscription outpaced their expectations so they had to initiate hard closing at this time.

She said, "Current clients that wish to increase their allocations should do so by February 10th, though, please note, all increases to allocations must be at a 2/25 fee structure (pro rated, if applicable). Also, effective immediately for any new clients who have not already confirmed an investment with Typhon, the minimum investment size for a Tauros account is now $1m."

And added, "While it’s unfortunate that Tauros does not have more capacity, we have many other excellent strategies that are complimentary to Tauros."

The Tauros Livestock Strategy ended December 2011 up +1.22% (+44.68% YTD) and is + 44.93% since its inception in July 2009. The strategy continued to deliver low-volatility performance amidst some of the most volatile ......................
