Global Macro firm LSC Asset Management aims to raise $100m in the next two years

LSC Asset Management, the British Virgin Islands-domiciled manager of long & short commodity fund LSC Investment Fund is planning to raise $100m in fresh new capital within the next two years through an ambitious and aggressive fund-raising campaign.

In an exclusive interview with Opalesque, Eric Bradley, who co-founded LSC Asset with Joachim Djian in December 2007, said that the fund is "coming close to its four years of track record and has achieved a 4-star rating from Morningstar. We intend to market the fund far more aggressively."

Bradley is confident with the fund’s prospects saying that LSC Fund managed to generate alpha, despite the huge market volatility of the past several months which penalized the financial industry as well as the equity markets because of the lingering concerns over the European debt crisis and the U.S. credit ratings downgrade in early August.

The LSC Investment Fund was up +0.81% last month and is up +19.27% since its inception in December 2007.

Unlike the vast majority of CTAs who are trend followers, LSC places great emphasis on contrarian signals. While this special focus sometimes makes LSC exit profitable positions early, the fund usually manages to generate alpha at market turns, whether it is from North to South or vice-versa which was the case in August as most operators were bullish while LSC found enough evidence to buck the tren......................
