Galloway’s emerging markets fund delivers +2.14% returns in July (+7.00% YTD)

Galloway Global Emerging Markets Fixed Income Fund, managed by Galloway Capital Management, an emerging markets investment boutique focused on active fixed income high yield strategies, has defied the recent market volatility, returning +2.14% in July (+7.00% YTD) while holding 34 positions.

Even during the unstable months of May and June when most of the markets sustained significant losses, the Galloway Global Emerging fund posted "negligible" losses. In May, the fund was almost flat at -0.02% and it sustained -0.21% loss in June.

Comparatively, the average hedge fund lost 2% in June as the HFRX Global Hedge Fund Index fell -1.59% during the month (-2.12% YTD) on concerns over the health of the U.S. and Chinese economies and amidst the European debt crisis. In May, HFRI Fund Weighted Composite Index fell -1.28% (+1.92% YTD) as the global commodity and equity markets suffered negative losses during the month, reversing the gains posted in previous months.
