Arcanum's REIT hedge fund annualises 23.4% in 3 years

New York-based Arcanum Capital Management LLC, which manages the Arcanum REIT Investment Fund has announced to investors that BarclayHedge has ranked the fund as the best performing real estate hedge fund after returning +23.4% compounded annual gains for three years. The Arcanum REIT outperformed its closest competition, Ceres Farms LLC, by more than +9% over that three year period.

"Remember: it still is possible to make money and have fun. Just because it isn't easy is no reason to stop trying," the company said in an email.

Arcanum REIT down -1.63% in April (+6.19% YTD) Arcanum also released its numbers in April showing that despite a strong month in April for the REIT market (Real Estate Investment Trusts), the Arcanum REIT fund fell -1.63% although it has sustained a positive +6.19% year-to-date gains. Since inception in March 2008, the fund has returned +89.28%.

Overall the REIT market reported strong results with the NAREIT index gaining +6.25% compared to the S&P500 TR which returned +2.96% during the same month.

The HFRI Composite index gained 1.86% and HFRI Equity Market Neutral Index gained 0.55%.
