BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services sets record $400bn in assets under administration

Hedge fund service provider BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services generated a record $400bn in assets under administration, making it the second largest hedge funds solutions provider, funds of hedge funds, and private equity investments globally.

Brian Ruane, BNY Mellon chief executive officer of Alternative and Broker-Dealer Services said in a statement, "Alternative asset service providers will increasingly be looked upon to provide both the alternative solutions as well as the transparency managers want. Reaching this milestone is an achievement in itself, but the way in which we've grown our business globally attests to our ability to meet client needs in an evolutionary phase for the industry."

BNY Mellon AIS’ alternative assets under administration posted a 100% rise since 2008 due to an increase in market share and the firm’s acquisition of PNC's Global Investment Servicing business in July 2010. The company also saw growth in other areas as well as strong demand for its 'prime custody' offering as more hedge fund managers opt for an independent third-party provider to handle custody, cash management and other specialized servi......................
