Ex-UBP head to boost Mirabaud’s funds of hedge funds marketing: ‘FoHFs must regain investors’ trust’

Bertrand Bricheux joined Mirabaud on 1 March 2011 as Head of Hedge Funds Marketing and Business Development, with the task of seeing through the development strategy for funds of hedge funds and strengthening institutional distribution of the full Mirabaud product offering.

An alternative investment marketing professional with more than 18 years of experience in financial markets, Bricheux has worked for the likes of Citigroup, UBP and Allianz Hedge Fund Partners, where he was a founding partner. When he was Head of marketing at UBP, he participated in Opalesque’s 2009 Geneva Roundtable (Source).

In his new position as Head of Hedge Funds Marketing and Business Development at Geneva-based Mirabaud, he will focus on distributing hedge funds and promoting customised discretionary mandates and investment advisory, with the aim to develop Mirabaud’s services to pension funds, insurance companies, foundations, independent asset managers and private banks.

“The image of FoHFs has suffered during the financial crisis, and many providers may have deserved it due to the way they treated their investors with regards to liquidity issues,” Bricheux told Opalesque. “Others, however, were very transparent and never used side-pockets or gates.
