Geneva's finance sector set to grow according to Geneva round table participants

Geneva is universally regarded as a very pleasant place to live, according, at least to the group of hedge fund professionals who attended the recent Opalesque Geneva Roundtable

Cedric van Rijckevorsel, Managing Director of IDS Capital, commented: "The quality of life is great, the mountains are next door, the weather is definitely better than London" while, David Barry, Head of Sales and Marketing Europe and Middle East, Custom House Group agreed, saying: "I have to agree with Cedric, it is not just about tax, and one of the attractions of Geneva, is its quality of life, good transport system, excellent schools and so on."

However, both men and the rest of the panel agreed that people needed to think through their decision to move their families and their businesses there. Van Rijckevorsel says: "People should have a closer look... we have seen lots of very big firms relocating to Geneva with hundred of employees trying to find space for their offices... finding lodging for all of these people and finding schools for their children could be difficult."
