Bandon Capital's multi-strategy vehicle now available to both accredited and non-accredited investors

Continuing its push to democratize the availability of liquid alternative investment strategies, Oregon-based Bandon Capital Management announced the formal launch of Bandon Absolute Return Core, a liquid multi strategy investment that provides investors with exposure to two of the firm's other investment vehicles.

The firm is focused on reaching both accredited and non-accredited investors and estimates that half of their current assets under management can be attributed to non-accredited investors. Opalesque has learned that the new vehicle, which will be run mainly through separately managed accounts (as well as an option to invest through a unified managed account) was launched due to client demand and has been trading since December 2009, returning +3.32% (as of August 31). The strategy currently has an asset base of approximately $10m.

Absolute Return Core has daily liquidity and a minimum investment requirement of $75,000. The strategy provides for equal exposure between the firm's absolute return, US Treasury focused Bandon Directional Interest Rate Strategy and a concentrated long/short equity strategy with a broad market hedge.
