Transparency has been a hedge fund industry buzzword for much of the past two years. Although investors, managers, and regulators have all done their part to broaden the information available, it is possible that one of the strongest drivers of transparency has been the recent spate of books published about hedge funds.
New to this market is “Top Hedge Fund Investors: Stories, Strategies, and Advice” by Cathleen M. Rittereiser and Lawrence E. Kochard, PhD, CFA, an in-depth look at hedge fund investing that provides readers with a noteworthy dose of transparency into the fund of hedge funds industry.
The co-authors, who previously teamed to write “Foundation and Endowment Investing: Philosophies and Strategies of Top Investors and Institutions” (Wiley 2008) have focused this time on an impressive list of hedge fund investors that includes: Richard Elden (Grosvenor), Frank Meyer (Glenwood), James Hodge(Permal), Mark Anson (Oak Hill), Louis Moelchert Jr (Private Advisors), Christopher Fawcett (Fauchier), Deepak Gurnani (Investcorp), Kathryn Hall (Hall Capital), and Ted Seides (Protégé).
