Hedge fund titans Griffin, Lasry, Dubin and Dinan on worries, genetic maladies and the coming hedge fund IPOs

Matthias Knab reports live from the Skybridge Alternatives ("SALT") Conference in Las Vegas: Skybridge Capital's conference was sold out weeks ahead, and judging from the feedback of the participants, next year's event will sell out as well, only faster. With 1500 people attending, this is probably one of the largest hedge fund conferences in the U.S. And considering we're in 2010, a solid success for Skybridge.

Apart from President Bill Clinton and the formidable Michael Milken, the panel "Perspectives of Hedge Fund Luminaries" was the undisputed highlight of the day, uniting:

The panel discussed fundamental hedge fund issues in an open, engaged and even entertaining form. I am doing a brief recap of a couple of vital points.

Securing talent is key for survival

All these hedge fund founders created multi billion hedge funds and reached the critical "institutional" size of $10bn+ in assets. James Dinan from York Capital explained how vital it is for these hedge funds to continuously secure the best talent for their firms.
