Former Alpha Titans Funds team builds 'next generation' multi-strat fund

Run down the checklist of every investor demand in the post-financial crisis environment and you will find Jesse Redmond and Justin Pawl are aiming to meet each one with their newly launched (as of April 1, 2010) multi-strategy fund Evolved Alpha. The team, former co-Portfolio Managers of the Alpha Titans Funds, are offering investors monthly liquidity, no lock-ups or gates, weekly performance estimates and risk reports, all across a portfolio that currently has over 3,000 securities (mainly equities, futures and currencies).

"In the aftermath of 2008, investors rightfully expressed concerns about the liquidity and opaqueness of hedge funds," Pawl said in a statement about the launch. "Evolved Alpha specifically addresses these concerns by providing a solution that offers structural, strategy, and risk management advantages relative to traditional multi-manager portfolios."

The team, who has paired with an unnamed former Forbes 400 family office president for the fund's launch, is targeting investors from the high net worth population all the way up to the institutional level. May 1st marked the seeded launch of an institutional share class offered by the fund that, in addition to offering the high levels of transparency of the flagship share class has a volatility and return profile tailored to the needs of the institutional market.
