What interested readers in 2009? A glimpse at the most popular searches within the Opalesque archive reveals what was most important to our readers during an evolutionary year for the hedge fund industry.

Although performance was strong through 2009, redemptions continued well into the year and numerous funds were forced to close. However, as the year progressed we began to see mention of more and more small fund launches, and readers were hungry for news of industry re-growth as the term "fund launch" was searched more than any other in 2009.
