Investing in best technology will assure more returns, investors' trust in busy hedge fund space

Introducing a reliable technology infrastructure did wonders for hedge fund managers and administrators this year as it doubled as a security blanket assuring nervous investors preferring all-the-time digital access and 24/7 track down of their investments.

According to Opalesque's Chicago Roundtable (Source), technology drives the thriving managed futures industry these days.

"In many respects, the industry has become a technology business," commented Joseph Canepari, president, Rotella Capital Management during the Roundtable.

However, managers and administrators are having doubts whether it is wise to buy a system or should they build a customised one for the company.

2010: A year of many technology improvements for finance tools

With barely a month to go before 2010, experts from two technology providers said it would be wise to discern one's needs and that of the clients before committing to the technology brandished by providers.

Jayesh A. Punater, president & CEO of Gravitas Technology said in a commentary that he considers 2010 to be a big year for technological innovation, an improvement and integration of current "legacy technology architectures for financial services such as portfolio accounting, risk and trading."
