FrontPoint hires ex-Kingsmead John Foo and team to run Asia event driven strategy to be launched this year

Connecticut-based hedge fund firm FrontPoint Partners announced on Monday the hire of former Kingsmead Capital Advisors founder and portfolio manager John Foo and his investment team. Foo is being brought on board to oversee an Asian (ex Japan) focused, event-driven/special situations strategy for the Morgan Stanley Investment Management subsidiary. Sources close to the team told Opalesque the strategy is expected to launch later this year.
