Dr. Georg Wessling appointed new CIO of Harcourt, to replace Christophe Gruenig

The Board of Directors of Harcourt Investment Consulting AG has appointed Dr. Georg Wessling as new Chief Investment Officer per 01 July 2009. Dr. Georg Wessling joined Harcourt in 2005, was promoted to Head of Portfolio Management in January 2006 and became a Member of the Investment Committee in 2008.

… Georg Wessling will replace the current CIO Christophe Grünig. Christophe Grünig aims to enhance Harcourt's business franchise in Asia and will support the local team of Harcourt Asia. In this new function he will explore the promising investment opportunities in Asia and make new investments accessible to Harcourt clients. Christophe Grünig remains a Member of the Board of Directors and a Member of the Investment Committee of Harcourt.

In addition to CEO Stephan Fritz, the Executive Management of Harcourt is composed of Dr. Georg Wessling (CIO), Frédéric Berney (Chief Risk Officer) and Reto Candrian (Head of Business Development).

Prior to Harcourt, Georg Wessling worked as an investment consultant for Ecofin AG, a Zurich-based pension fund consultant, from 1995 to 2004. … Dr. Georg Wessling studied at the Universities of Nijmegen (Netherlands), Muenster (Germany) and Berne (Switzerland). He obtained a degree in Economics from the University of Berne and a PhD in Finance from the University of Zurich in 2003.
