Australian fund incubators expecting more deals to hatch

Hatfield Advisors, a Sydney-based provider of alternative investment intelligence and market research, says in its latest newsletter that fund incubators were gearing up for an influx of boutique and hedge funds seeking financial support.

Colonial First State's (CFS) general manager of funding and alliances, Graham Hand, recently told the Australian that the global downturn had increased the number of boutiques looking to partner with an institution. CFS prefers to take a 50% equity stake and currently has relationships with five boutiques including a quant manager and an absolute return manager.
