Opalesque Exclusive: Castlestone Management launches contemporary art investment fund From the Opalesque Team: Castlestone Management introduced a new fund giving individual investors the ability to invest in modern and contemporary art. Collection of Modern Art has been launched as an eight-year investment vehicle and they are currently pre-marketing this fund in the UK, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.

Collection of Modern Art is a mutual fund open to individual investors. The minimum investment starts at $10,000 or GBP10,000. Investors can access Collection of Modern Art only through a professional financial advisor.

Art has outperformed equities over short and long periods of time. Research by Mei and Moses showed that art has given investors an average annual return of 7.7% a year between 1875 and 2000. That compares to a return of just 6.6% from stocks.

Art is an irreplaceable real asset. Like other real assets, such as property and gold, it traditionally provides protection against inflation, preventing rising prices from eroding value. With governments printing so much money to pull the economies back into shape, we are set for a period of high inflation. Corporate website: Source
