Alexander Ineichen to leave UBS

Opalesque has learned that Alexander Ineichen, Managing Director and Head of Industry Research, Alternative and Quantitative Investments (A&Q), UBS Global Asset Management, has handed in his resignation from UBS. Ineichen confirmed to Opalesque his departure, but did not elaborate on his future plans. Ineichen has been with UBS since 1988 and has led UBS Investment Bank’s research into hedge funds and other alternative investments since 2000.

In 2005 he moved to UBS Global Asset Management’s A&Q hedge fund platform in a senior research capacity, after having served as global head of alternative investments research for UBS Investment Bank in London. He was a participant at the recent Opalesque Zurich Roundtable, which was published last month: Source.

Alexander Ineichen has earned industry-wide recognition for his research in hedge funds in particular. He is the author of numerous publications, including “In Search of Alpha: Investing in Hedge Funds” and “The Search for Alpha Continues: Do Fund of Hedge Funds Add Value?”, which are today still the most printed research reports in the documented history of UBS.

Ineichen began his financial career in sales and origination of risk-management products at SBC (Swiss Bank Corporation) in Switzerland. He then started the Investment Bank's research efforts into Swiss equity derivatives in 1991, European equity derivatives in 1995, equi......................
