Stark & Company launches new CTA database

San Diego, California-based research firm Daniel B. Stark & Company yesterday (31-Mar-09) announced the launch of a new, web-based commodity trading advisor (CTA) research database platform.

In a statement, Dan Stark, president and founder of the firm, said that the STAR CTA Database was offered by subscription to institutional and individual investors, trading managers, investment advisors, and broker dealers worldwide.

Founded in1987, the company is one of the oldest and most established research and consulting firms in the managed futures industry. The firm currently tracks the performance of nearly 600 CTA programs and futures funds. The firm also publishes 12 proprietary CTA and Fund indices, the statement says.

Stark said the new database would allow users of the database to expand their access to both qualitative and quantitative CTA information. At the same time, the development of the new system would allow Stark greater flexibility to continuously add new functionality and improved research and analysis tools, he said.

Through the new STAR CTA Database, investors can access CTA rankings reports, proprietary CTA sector indices, corporate profiles on trading manager firms, and individual program profiles which include a variety of in-depth quantitative information and analytics such as correlation and drawdown analysis, return distributions and time windows ......................
