LCF Rothschild`s head of FoHFs says that hedge funds` investment principles remain valid

From the Opalesque team: Alexandre Col, head of the funds of hedge funds department at Geneva-based Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild, told Swiss newspaper Le Temps in an interview last week that hedge funds were indeed not immune from the state of the world economy – although they have lost less than the rest which shows their investment principles remain valid.

He believes that distressed (or ‘Chapter 11’) strategies could be attractive in the future although not just yet. The debt market offers the most opportunities, included U.S. mortgage securitization. There is such a market dislocation that it would be good to play it in a ver......................
