Attunga thrives with uncorrelated asset classes, Agricultural Trading Fund +6.3%, Enviro Opportunities Fund +0.2%

From the Opalesque team: Given the current volatility in global markets, and the fact that Attunga Capital’s investment strategies are largely uncorrelated to these global events, here according to the fund’s managers are the mid-month fund estimates for Oct-08 performance.

Indicative performance (marked-to-market, before fees) for the Attunga Agricultural Trading Fund (featured in ASQUARE Source) was +6.3%, for the Attunga Enviro Opportunities Fund was +0.2% (featured in A SQUARE Source) and for the Attunga Power & Enviro (Offshore) Fund was -0.4% (note: the differential between the onshore and offshore power funds is primarily due to the interest rate differential between AUD cash rate and USD cash rate as well as the sharp depreciation of the AUD against the USD over the last 2-3 weeks).

In addition, for the quarter ended Sep-08 the Agriculture fund has delivered +5.29%, and the onshore power fund has delivered +0.06% and the offshore power fund has delivered +0.26%.

The fund-s manager’s believe this period of volatility in global markets is demonstrating the value of investments in truly uncorrelated asset classes. Over the last quarter, they have received net inflows of funds and have further capacity across both strateg......................
