Steven Hornstein`s Global Credit Advisors launching into the distressed space

From Kirsten Bischoff, Opalesque New York: Today, October 1st is the launch date for Global Credit Advisors' GCA Opportunities Fund. Opalesque has learned that the long/short high yield and distressed fund will start with a number of initial investors as well as partner capital.

The strategy will focus on both the US and European markets and will launch into a credit cycle that has seen corporate distressed debt climb to higher levels than in 2002. They will be one of the funds looking to answer the growing demand for distressed investing by those moving to the strategy which offers the benefit of participation in the current market environment and the eventual recovery phase of the credit cycle.

Sources with knowledge of the launch say the team is looking forward to participating in the unprecedented opportunities on both the long and short side. Perhaps most striking is the wealth of opportunity which has arisen in the past few months, opportunities which didn't even exist in March 2008, when the firm started.

Global Credit Advisors was co-founded by a team of four who have collaborated for over 20 years.
