Amsterdam`s Theta Multistar FoHFs lost 2.31% in August, manager believes current forced selling creates opportunities not seen for many years

From the Opalesque team: The Theta Multistar Medium Volatility Fund lost 2.31% in August, bringing the YTD return to -10.05%. In reference the HFRI Fund of Funds Index lost 1.25% (-5.33% YTD), the MSCI World gained 1.09% (-14.05% YTD) and the JP Morgan Government Bond Index gained 4.15% (2.36% YTD). All figures are presented hedged into Euros.

The manager commented: “The period of violent market moves, government intervention (or not) and forced selling at any price by mainly levered market participants is taking longer than most have expected and does not seem to have reached its climax yet, underscored by the demise of two larg......................
