Australian SuperFund allocates to BGI and BlackRock 120/20 funds to allow opportunistic shorting in volatile times

From Matthias Knab, Opalesque Europe: The Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund (CSRF), the largest Catholic industry super fund in Australia open to anyone eligible for superannuation (pensions savings), announced it has readjusted its Australian equities portfolio and awarded $100 million to BGI and $100 million to BlackRock Investment Management. The allocation will be invested in the BGI Alpha Advantage Equity Fund and the BlackRock Australian Quant Strategies Fund.

CSRF's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Greg Cantor said the Fund wanted to add the flexibility to allow for some short sells to its investment mix.
