Asia: APS China investment strategist gives outlook for issues facing current Chinese economy, see inflation accelerating by year end

APS China investment strategist Prof. Tan Kong Yam recently turned to contacts in Bejing to research the three major related issues facing the current Chinese economy:

  • the threat of inflation
  • the concern of an economic slowdown
  • the inflow of hot money/RMB management.
Overall, the assessment for the next several months is as follows:
  • The credit loosening policy and greater emphasis on growth against inflation will be sustained over the next several months. This would be good for the stock market.
