M&A: N+1 acquires 50% of Access Capital Partners

Today, N+1 has reached an agreement whereby it has acquired 50% of Access Capital Partners, a European funds of private equity funds company. N+1has acquired a 35% from CapMan, the finish alternative asset management group and founding shareholder of the company, and the remaining 15% from the founders, who are reinvesting a part in the acquisition vehicle...

Access Capital Partners currently manages EUR2,500m in funds and portfolios with around 130 international clients, most of them institutional. The company has offices located in Brussels, Paris and Munich and a staff of 30 professionals?Both groups will join efforts to develop a European platform of alternative investments with exposure to private equity, alternative energies, active funds, real estate, hedge funds, absolute return strategies and restructuring.

The new partnership will implement a short term strategy to raise funds internationally, set up a product structuring unit for institutional clients and create a joint venture partnership to penetrate the alternative investments American market. Additionally, this European platform, with around EUR6,000m of alternative assets advised or managed, will allow N+1 to develop its wealth and financial advisory business to family groups and medium size companies in the French, German and Belgian markets?The closing of the transaction requires the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.
