ArtMarket Confidence Index: players have been pessimistic since May

As of 15th July, the barometer for the ArtMarket Confidence Index - measured live by ArtPrice.com - was negative, at -1.2 with an intraday progression of -4.43. So the mood coming from the art market players showed to be pessimistic.

The intraday progression follows up art market players feedback on current news (stock market tendencies, geopolitical events, results of high profile sales etc.).

With regards to the sentiments on current climate, sentiment on prospective artwork acquisition was strong (60%) but sentiment on the current financial situation was generally thought to be worse (34%......................
