Canada`s new funds part 3: Arrow Maple Leaf fund of funds, investing in Canadian-based funds and looking to add 3-5 managers over the next few months

Kirsten Bischoff, Opalesque New York: In part 3, Mark Purdy, Managing Director and CIO of Toronto-based Arrow Hedge Partners spoke to Opalesque about the pool of hedge fund talent in Canada and how the Arrow Maple Leaf fund-of-funds, which invests in Canada based managers is positioning itself in terms of the current global markets.

Strategy: allocating to Canadian based managers The Arrow Maple Leaf Fund is a multi strategy fund-of-funds managed by Arrow Hedge Partners. Arrow Hedge, which has approximately C$1bln in assets runs multiple funds which invest globally across many strategies. However, to specifically take advantage of the growth and strength Arrow Hedge was seeing in the Canadian hedge fund universe, the group launched the Arrow Maple Leaf Fund in February 2007 and it now has assets of $20 million.
