Opalesque Exclusive: Christopher Kelly joins Sands Brothers as Chief Operating and Compliance Officer Sands Brothers Asset Management, LLC has hired Christopher Kelly, Esq. as the firm's new chief operating and compliance officer. Mr. Kelly will oversee all firm compliance related issues and the business practices of multiple investment strategies, including equity, venture, credit and alternative investments. He joins the firm with over 25 years of corporate and securities law experience. Sands Brothers is managed by Martin and Steven Sands?

At Pirate Capital, a $1.8 billion hedge fund, Chris served as general counsel and chief compliance officer. Previously, he was managing director, general counsel and chief compliance officer of Cypress Associates LLC, a New York-based boutique investment bank he co-founded. Chris joined Cypress from Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm based in New York. Chris began his career in New York with the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
