Finch annualises 42.80% through investments in undervalued sub-Saharan African and Africa-related securities

Benedicte Gravrand, Opalesque Geneva: Subsequent to our Africa funds series (see last article here), Opalesque is compelled to report on this audacious and highly performing fund that focuses on sub-Saharan Africa. Opalesque talked to Damian J. Sassower, managing director and Jenni Chamberlain, portfolio manager, both based in Finch’s offices in Greenwich, CT.

About Finch Africa Finch Africa LP is the firm's first single-strategy offering (and the only one marketed to the investment public) and has been designed to take advantage of the firm’s edge with respect to investing across Sub-Saharan Africa. The fund is run by Jenni Chamberlain, a South African native, who, during her 13 years of experience with African capital markets (the last few years with HSBC), got involved in several high profile advisory mandates and was Reuters top-ranked analyst for African Research in 1999. She is married to Anthony Finch, who ran Securities Africa, an investment bank focused on Africa. They launched the fund in June 2006 with $2m of their own money. It now manages almost $50m.
