Opalesque Exclusive: GLS`s global and emerging markets funds recover in April GLS`s emerging markets and global opportunities funds recovered in April, each returning +4.29% (est.). Year to date, Global Opportunities lost -4.87% (est.) while Emerging Markets is down -7.78% (est.).

GLS`s top investment theme continues to be the resource-rich regions of the world with dynamic growth and strong leadership, the GCC being their largest exposure for those reasons, according to GLS`s Kristi Jernigan. In addition, they have a 15% exposure in Russia as it should play catch-up with other commodity-based markets in the months ahead. They are also finding tremendous opportunity in Latin America.

Other regions that are offering attractive valuations are China and Turkey. As stability slowly returns to the capital markets, GLS`s portfolio is becoming more globally diversified, and they expect this process to continue in the months ahead. Corporate website: Source
