Opalesque Exclusive: Bingham hires official from Japanese Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission Bingham McCutchen LLP has extended its renowned securities strength with a key hire to its Tokyo office.

Takayasu Koga, formerly with the Japanese Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC), joins Bingham as a securities partner, increasing the firm's finance and securities law capabilities in one of the world's major financial markets.

As assistant director in charge of inspections at the SESC, Koga handled the examinations of securities firms, investment advisers, investment management firms, and futures trading firms. He also was involved in the review and implementation of legislative bills and proposed regulations.
